Abstract | Descargas atmosféricas são eventos raros, belos e igualmente perigosos. ABSTRACT: Lightning discharges are rare, mesmerizing and equally dangerous events. Due to this, early prediction of lightning allows people and companies to take safety actions. In this context, this paper aims to propose a lightning discharge model capable of classifying, 15 minutes before, the possibility of lightning striking a target place, which corresponds to a mining area. Lightning data from multiple sources were used. Occurrences in grids around the area were used to evaluate the SVM One Class and Isolation Forest outliers detection models. The model generated with Isolation Forest was able to predict, in advance, more than 61% of the discharges, considering the F1-score metric. The results achieved in this research are promising and provide both a methodology that considers spatial patterns and a modelling that looks for spurious patterns in the data. |
